Get Castunes
The Android app installs straight from here. On iPhone and computers there's nothing to download: Castunes runs in your browser and installs like an app from there.
Not on the Play Store yet, so it installs straight from here.

Play Protect flags every app from outside the Play Store. It's about where the file came from, not what's in it, so leave it switched on.
Nothing to download. Listen, upload and manage your music at castunes.app, and add it to your Home Screen or install it as an app.

Yes. Uploading, listening and sharing cost nothing, and there are no ads. No distributor, no yearly fee.
It's the same app every time, signed by us and downloaded straight from castunes.app. Android warns about any app that doesn't come from the Play Store. The warning is about where the file came from, not what's in it, so leave Play Protect switched on.
Yes. Uploading only lets Castunes host and play your tracks, nothing beyond that. You can take a release down whenever you want.
Not in the App Store yet, and it's next on the list. Until then Castunes works fully in Safari at castunes.app: listen, make an account and upload your music. Tap Share, then Add to Home Screen, and it opens like an app from its own icon.
Yes. Open castunes.app in any browser to listen, upload and manage your releases. In Chrome or Edge, the Install app button at the top puts Castunes in its own window.
The app tells you. When a new version is out, Castunes offers it the next time you open it, and one tap downloads it from this site.
Upload only what is yours. Your own recordings, or music you hold the rights to. Not someone else's release, not a remix you have no licence for, and not unreleased or leaked material.
Artwork counts too. The cover has to be yours or licensed. A track with borrowed artwork comes down the same as a borrowed recording.
Credit honestly. Publish under your own name. Do not upload as, or imply you are, an artist you are not.
Mark explicit tracks. There is a switch when you upload. Use it — it is the only thing standing between your track and somebody's kid.
No hate or abuse. Nothing that attacks people for who they are, and nothing that harasses or threatens anybody. This one costs the account, not just the track.
No spam. Not duplicate uploads, not silence, not adverts. Castunes is for recordings.
What happens if you break these. The track comes down and you get a message saying why. Repeats are counted. A pattern costs the account — and anything under hate and abuse can cost it the first time.
Copyright strikes. A track taken down because it uses someone else's music, artwork or lyrics is a strike, and a strike lasts 12 months. With two at once, uploading pauses for 14 days. With three, the account is closed for good, and a closed account may not come back under a new one. One complaint is one strike, however many tracks it names.
If we get it wrong. Tap Dispute on the takedown notice within 14 days, or email help@castunes.app. A track taken down in error goes straight back up, and its strike goes with it.
Copyright holders. If something here infringes your rights, email help@castunes.app with a link to the track and proof of ownership, and we will remove it.
What we keep. Your email, username and profile; music and artwork you upload; and your activity — likes, follows, playlists and what you've listened to.
What we don't. No selling data, no ads, no third-party analytics or advertising trackers.
Your history. It builds your home shelves. Two switches in Settings control what others see — totals on by default, recently played off.
Google sign-in. Google gives Castunes your email and name to create the account. Nothing more, and nothing goes back to Google about what you play.
Your uploads. They stay yours. Uploading lets Castunes host and play them, nothing beyond that, and you can take a release down whenever you want.
Deleting your account. Settings → Delete account, in the app. We email you a code to confirm it is you, then your profile, your music, your plays and your messages go. Your email address can be used for a new account 14 days later. Email help@castunes.app if you cannot get into the app to do it.
